Down The Track
A free, private financial-education tool for young New Zealanders that shows what your everyday spending really costs you down the track.
The idea
Most young Kiwis have never been shown what their daily habits actually cost over a lifetime, or what redirecting even part of that spending could be worth. Down The Track makes it visual: plug in a habit, and watch the years play out. It ties straight into my passion for financial advice, but it's deliberately education, not advice, with no products, no sign-ups, and everything staying on your device.
The build
Seven tools built around New Zealand's real financial landscape: a spending forecaster, a habit comparison tool, KiwiSaver and term deposit projections, student and car loan calculators, a first-home deposit planner, and a budget builder that ties it all together.
It's built with Next.js and React, with all the maths running privately in your browser, so nothing you enter ever leaves your device.
