Car brands nailed this years ago: pick your model, click through engines, colours and options, and watch the price update as your dream takes shape. No boat builder in New Zealand offers anything close, specs live in PDFs and pricing lives in a phone call.

The idea is a configurator boat builders could offer their buyers: choose the hull, walk through power options, electronics, and fit-out, and end with a full spec sheet and a realistic price. Good for dreamers, and a genuinely useful sales tool for builders.

It's at the idea stage, and yes, it's partly an excuse to finally spec that big Rayglass with twin Mercs.
